Closed-Loop Feedback
The continuous cycle where field data (customer usage, failures, maintenance records, warranty claims) flow back to product design and PLM for incorporation into next generation designs.
Why it matters
Open-loop design (design once, ship, never hear from customer) leads to repeated failures. Closed-loop design (integrate field learning into next iteration) leads to continuously improving products. AI makes closed-loop practical by automating the data collection and analysis.
