Data Governance (PLM)

Policies, processes, and tools ensuring that PLM data is accurate, consistent, current, and properly tracked. Includes naming conventions, metadata standards, access controls, and data quality rules.

Why it matters

Broken data governance means traceability fails: designers can't find drawings, systems have conflicting versions, metadata is missing. The digital thread is only as strong as the underlying data governance.
