Model-Based Systems Engineering
A systems engineering methodology that uses formalized models — rather than documents — as the primary means of expressing, communicating, and managing system requirements, design, analysis, and verification across the lifecycle.
Why it matters
MBSE provides the architectural framework that makes digital twins coherent — defining the system boundaries, interfaces, and behaviors that the twin must represent, and connecting simulation models to formal requirements managed in PLM.
