Multi-Tier BOM Visibility

The ability to see the full supply chain structure below a product's immediate Tier 1 supplier layer — identifying Tier 2 and sub-tier suppliers of critical components, their geographic concentration, and their capacity constraints.

Why it matters

Single-tier visibility creates false confidence in supply chain resilience. The most severe disruptions originate below the first-tier level and are invisible without multi-tier data. PLM must connect to supply chain intelligence platforms to surface this visibility at the BOM level.
