Nonconformance Report
A formal record documenting that a product, component, or process has failed to meet a specified requirement, including the nature of the failure, affected parts, and disposition decision.
Why it matters
NCRs are the starting point for CAPA. When NCRs in PLM are linked to specific BOM positions and part revisions, quality engineers can instantly identify which released configuration is affected, which lots are at risk, and whether a change order is needed.
