Service Bill of Materials
A variant of the product BOM structured around serviceability — identifying which components are field-replaceable, their expected service intervals, and the parts and labor required to maintain or repair the asset in the field.
Why it matters
The service BOM is the foundation of predictive maintenance programs. Without it, field service teams work from institutional memory rather than engineered service plans tied to actual asset condition.
