STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product Data)
Why it matters
STEP is the de facto standard for neutral CAD exchange in engineering and manufacturing. STEP AP242, the current version, adds support for PMI and is the preferred format for complete 3D product data exchange between supply chain partners.
