Supply Chain Traceability
Supply Chain Traceability is the ability to track and verify the origin, movement, and handling of materials and components throughout procurement, manufacturing, and delivery—from raw material source through final assembly and into the field.
Why it matters
Traceability enables organizations to respond to field failures, recalls, and regulatory audits with precision rather than guesswork. For manufacturers of safety-critical products, it is a compliance requirement; for all manufacturers, it directly reduces recall scope, warranty costs, and reputational damage when components fail.
