Engineering BOM
The bill of materials that reflects the product as designed by engineering — showing part relationships, quantities, and design intent — as opposed to the manufacturing BOM which reflects how the product is built.
Why it matters
The EBOM is the primary output of the CAD-PLM integration. Accurate EBOM extraction from CAD assemblies eliminates the manual effort and error risk of maintaining BOMs separately from CAD models.
