Siemens NX
Siemens NX (formerly Unigraphics, then NX) is Siemens Digital Industries Software's flagship CAD/CAM/CAE platform. NX combines parametric solid modeling, surface design, manufacturing (NX CAM), and simulation (Simcenter NX) in a single environment. NX is dominant in automotive powertrain, aerospace structures, and precision machining programs. Its native integration with Teamcenter PLM is the tightest CAD-PLM connection in the market.
Why it matters
NX's integration with Teamcenter and Opcenter (MES) gives Siemens the most complete digital thread from design to shop floor of any vendor. Organizations choosing NX are choosing the Siemens ecosystem: deeper integration in exchange for deeper vendor dependency.
