Siemens Digital Industries Software's enterprise PLM platform and the most widely deployed PLM system in manufacturing. Evolved from IMAN through the UGS-SDRC merger in 2001 and Siemens' acquisition in 2007. Manages product data, BOMs, change processes, configuration control, manufacturing process planning (Opcenter), and supplier collaboration. The reference implementation for large automotive and aerospace programs globally.
Why it matters
Teamcenter defines the competitive ceiling for enterprise PLM. Its NX native integration, distributed caching architecture (TCFS), and configuration management depth set the feature bar that Windchill, Aras, and 3DEXPERIENCE are measured against. 70% of automotive OEMs run Teamcenter — supplier programs that participate in German or Korean automotive supply chains will encounter it.
