PLM integration is the discipline of connecting the product lifecycle management system to the enterprise systems that author, consume and change product data: CAD for design authoring, ERP for procurement and cost, MES for shop-floor execution, ALM for embedded software, QMS for quality events and supplier systems for the extended enterprise. It defines which system is authoritative for which data, which release events trigger data movement, and how as-built and quality records return to the product record.
Integration governance is the set of enforced decisions that make enterprise integration trustworthy: which system is authoritative for each data domain, which events trigger data movement and in which direction, how conflicts between systems are resolved, and how changes to integrated data are audited across system boundaries.
