Cloud PLM
Cloud PLM is SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) PLM hosted and maintained by the vendor on multi-tenant cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.). You pay a subscription per user or per month, with automatic updates and no infrastructure management. Vendors: Arena (PTC), Propel, Duro, Aletiq, OpenBOM.
Why it matters
Cloud PLM enables small and midmarket manufacturers to have enterprise-grade PLM without the $500K+ upfront investment and multi-month implementation. It is changing the competitive landscape for PLM.
